    Muktinatha Special Tour

    Trip Overview

Muktinatha Special Tour is a very special tour that takes you to one of the most significant temples for both Buddhist and Hindus. Muktinatha is located on Mustang district at an altitude of 3170m at the foot of the famous Thorong La pass. Muktinatha is both important to hindus as it is a sacred temple for Lord Bishnu and for Buddhist it is believed that Guru Ringpoche once meditated on the same sacred site on his way to Tibet. The temple of Muktinatha is considered as one of the eight most sacred pilgrims for Hindus especially the Vaishnavs (followrs of Lord Bishnu) and is known as Svayam Vyakta Ksetras. It is a small but one of the ancient temples of Lord Bishu, whose statue made of gold is placed right in the center of the temple and worshipped.  The temple is surrounded by 108 bull faced tapes through which the sacred water is flowed. It is believed that bathing in the water takes away all the sins of past life and people do bath even the water is freezing. It is a very interesting temple as we can see all the praying and worshipping procedures are done by the Buddhist monks. This demonstrates a strong interdependency and respect between two different religions that can only be seen seldom. The tour starts with drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu and a short flight to Jomsom. You can either hike or drive up to the temple. The hike is easy and breathtaking views of the Dhaulagiri stand tall all along the way to Muktinatha. This tour also takes you through the most important places of Kathmandu and Pokhara Valley. It is one of the most interesting and memorable tour you will have in your entire life due to the unique cultural experience that can be experienced nowhere else in the entire world.
